Born to a Hawaiian father and Japanese mother in Hilo, Kaipo grew up navigating outrigger canoes by starlight before a storm swept him into a hidden sea cave lined with coral that hummed like the Stone Spheres of Costa Rica. He now guards a submerged Astral Bridge off the Kona coast, using his gift to calm ocean currents and guide lost sailors safely to shore. Half-Polynesian, half-Japanese in spirit as in blood, he moves between two worlds as easily as he moves between tide and stars.
