The Guardians Return
As three Guardians appear without warning before a chancellor, a general and a secretary-general, the Bridges themselves ring out across the planet — and the leaders who run Earth have minutes to decide whether the impossible visitors are a miracle or an attack before soldiers, fire and a failing seal kill everyone in the room.
In the same hour, three emissaries of the Seven Guardian Tribes manifest inside the world's real seats of power — the UN Secretariat, a war room in Washington, a chancellery in Berlin — to deliver one warning: Acolal is coming, the Bridge is real, and everyone crosses or no one does. Fear moves faster than truth: a general scrambles his defences, a sealed UN chamber starts running out of air, and a citywide resonance from every ancient site on Earth sets off panic and fire. Cornered between armed soldiers and a dying room, the Chibali Guardians do the one thing left that no weapon can answer — they sing the tribes' oral history until the truth stops the guns. The leaders believe, the doors open, and the mission is finally ordered built. But as the chamber empties, a scorched, paw-shaped burn on the command console tells the Guardians someone in that locked room was already listening for Salugi long before they arrived.
