In a stretch of German woodland where luck itself has gone wrong, Willy Jones blunders after a legendary "beast" with guns and fire while Marcus Gray races the same dark to reach the truth first — cat seven, feral for decades, and one wrong move from killing someone or dying himself.
Rumors of a monster in the Schwarzwald draw Willy Jones and a taker crew hunting glory, and Marcus and Siru hunting the same signature Vivek's map has flagged for years: Hugo, the seventh Good Luck Cat, alive but feral, his luck curdled inward after decades alone. Willy's crew corners Hugo and nearly burns the forest down around all of them; Marcus has to get between a scared animal and a scared, dangerous idiot. In the smoke and panic, Willy — separated, terrified — sings an old marching song to keep his own nerve up, and it's the sound, not the strategy, that reaches Hugo first. The fire and a collapsing WWII listening-post force taker and seeker onto the same side just long enough to get everyone out alive, before the radio calls Willy back to a Harry Brown who already knew more about this forest than he let on.
