The Nine
The first mass crossing to Heliopoly hits a live Bridge and a live sinkhole in the same night — and something was already buried under the ground they're building on.
With enough of the eighteen Good Luck Cats reunited to hold it open, the Astral Bridge at Stonehenge takes its first full load: the nine Code Trekkers and a crossing-party of cats and guardians step through to raw, unfinished Heliopoly. Aldo Siza starts chalking the first street before the ground has even been proofed, and it isn't ready — voids honeycomb the fill, and a City Council grab for the tallest half-built tower turns Ptah's ground-blessing into a near-catastrophe. The whole crossing-party hauls the tower back upright by hand, singing the old raising-chant to keep the pull synced, and wins the night. But the collapse tears open a dressed-stone road running the length of the planned Main Street — built by someone, long before anyone broke this ground — and on the ridge above the floodlights, Salugi is already watching it.
