Orbit Office
Orbit is the network everyone in the universe is already on, and this building on the central square of Heliopoly is the only part of it you can walk into. A public counter on the ground floor, the trend floor above it, and the part nobody is shown higher than that.
Who posts from here. Nole Alset owns Orbit outright — it is the second of his two holdings, beside the Gravitrek company itself, and he posts under his own name whenever a berth window opens. Valentina files her Heliopoly diary from the terrace. Billy Cashwise trails the night's Heliopoly Value Channel card. Chairman Cao posts quarterly output figures nobody asked for, and the Morabots keep an account maintained on a rota. The founders of Gravitrek post there too, as themselves.
What you can do at the counter. Claim a handle — first come, and the short ones went long ago, which is why handles trade. Buy a verified tick: verification is sold here, not earned, and it changes nothing about what you may say and everything about who believes it, so a verified seller moves goods at a price an unverified one cannot ask. Pay for reach, a promoted post or, for a great deal more, a whole trend; the Umbrax Consortium advertises here and so, quietly, does the ferry trade. File a takedown when somebody has posted a photograph with your face or your cargo in it — the counter will take the complaint, and whether it acts depends on who you are. Read the trend floor, a live board of what the city is talking about, which traders watch because prices in Helioswap Market move with it.
Why both hunts end up queuing in it. The seekers read the same feed that hides the mission, because a Good Luck Cat surfacing in a stranger's holiday photograph has more than once been the only lead anyone had — and the takers read it for exactly the same reason. Neither side finds that funny.
