Heliopoly · the city
Building Heliopoly
Land, air rights and the ground underneath. Permits, work, rent, franchises, the bank, the tax office, the courts, and the prison when it goes wrong.
Heliopoly is where you land, and the longest game in the system. You arrive with nothing, find work, open an account, and start buying the city a piece at a time — plots, the air above them, the tunnels under them. Fortune’s Favor is the table at the centre of it; the city around that table is the part that takes years.
- The way inEighteen cats and all three documents. Heliopoly does not exist for a player before that.
- Where this actually isRules are up. The full table is still being built.
What you do
- Property. Land, air rights and underground space, bought from the city or off another player, or taken at auction at Crypties when nobody claims it in time.
- Work and standing. A job, an account at Heliobank, permits from the city hall, and a reputation that decides what you are allowed to do next.
- The institutions. The tax office, the hospital, the law office and the courts are not decoration — they are where the game is won and lost.
- The prison, for when it goes wrong, which it does.
